    How do I make a Medical Outpatient Department appointment?

    Appointments should be made through the Outpatient (OP) Support staff by calling 201-967-4061. At time of scheduling appointment, patients will be advised to contact Credit & Collections prior to services for financial screening to verify insurance benefits, determine co-pay or qualification for financial assistance.

    How do I register for a Medical Outpatient appointment?

    Registration will be completed in the Medical OP Registration Department. The Registration Representative will obtain insurance information as well as demographics. After registration process, patient will be given paperwork and directed to the Medical Clinic.

    What do I need to bring to register for an appointment?

    Identification - proof of residency (Drivers license or current bill showing address). Proof of Insurance - Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, etc. HMO's are not accepted unless Bergen Regional Medical Center is pre-approved as a provider by the HMO.

    What if I don't have insurance?

    You may be referred to the Credit and Collection Department to determine if you qualify for financial assistance.

    Who will take care of me?

    Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses are responsible for coordinating your care. Attending Physicians, Physician Assistants and Nurse Practioners provide direct care and oversee your treatment plan in both Medical Clinics and in all specialty clinics. Outpatient support staff will schedule follow-up appointments.
