Bergen Regional Medical Center provides expert inpatient adult medical and surgical care, as well as a full range of substance abuse treatment including an inpatient medical detox program.
Our comprehensive clinical services include emergency care, cardiac, vascular, pulmonary, gastro-intestinal, urology, oncology, neurology, podiatry, orthopedic and infectious disease specialists as well as diagnostic laboratory and radiology and an active Outpatient Department - offering twenty three Ambulatory Specialty Services.
Our eighteen bay department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and provides a full range of emergency medical and psychiatric treatment. Our staff of highly skilled medical and nursing professionals is supported by the medical specialties through an on-call schedule and a Psychiatric Emergency Screening and Evaluation program.
ICU/CCU care involves the expertise of a broad group of medical specialists and multi-disciplinary team members coordinated under the skilled oversight of an Intensivist.
The Medical Surgical Service at Bergen Regional Medical Center is designed to give our patients the best quality care and outcomes possible. By utilizing a multi-disciplinary team of health professionals who work together with our patients from admission through discharge to home or alternative sites, we are able to produce efficient and better quality care for our patients. The Medical Surgical Unit serves patients who have recovered significantly while in the Critical Care Units and now need a lesser level of monitoring while on the road to recovery. Patients on this unit may also be recovering from surgeries or other medical diagnoses.
Whether from diagnosis of an illness through recovery or from surgery through recovery, a team of physicians and nurses will guide you on your road to recovery and back to good health.

Bergen Regional Medical Center is unique in offering twenty three Ambulatory Specialty Services to Bergen County and its surrounding communities. These outpatient services offer wonderful convenience, enabling patients to see their doctor(s), complete lab work and have all their prescriptions filled at the same location.

If you need to schedule an appointment for any of BRMC's Ambulatory Clinics (Medical & Specialty); Radiology; Cardiology or Respiratory Service Areas, simply call the new Central Scheduling Department at 201-225-7130, open 8:30 am - 5:30pm, Monday - Friday. At time of scheduling appointment, patients will be advised to contact Credit & Collections prior to services for financial screening to verify insurance benefits, determine co-pay or qualification for financial assistance.
Registration will be completed in the Medical OP Registration Department. The Registration Representative will obtain insurance information as well as demographics. After registration process, patient will be given paperwork and directed to the Medical Clinic.
Identification - proof of residency (Drivers license or current bill showing address). Proof of Insurance - Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, etc. HMO's are not accepted unless Bergen Regional Medical Center is pre-approved as a provider by the HMO.
You may be referred to the Credit and Collection Department to determine if you qualify for financial assistance.
Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses are responsible for coordinating your care. Attending Physicians, Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners provide direct care and oversee your treatment plan in both Medical Clinics and in all specialty clinics. Outpatient support staff will schedule follow-up appointments.
