ACUTE SURGICAL SERVICES

Bergen Regional Medical Center offers medical outpatient services to the community as part of our Division of Acute and Ambulatory Services.

The largest hospital in the state of New Jersey, our campus is Paramus is easy to reach by public transportation (bus) or by car. There is complimentary valet parking service available at the main entrance.

Quality, compassionate, and holistic care are provided to adult and geriatric patients with a wide variety of health care needs.

Services provided are cardiac, vascular, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, urinary, oncology, neurology, podiatry, orthopedic, radiology and infectious disease.

Individualized plan of care developed and evaluated by an interdisciplinary team including: physician, nurse manager, nurses, social worker, nutritionist, respiratory therapist and rehabilitation therapists (physical, occupational and speech pathology).

Discharge planning initiated on day of admission.

Patient and family education provided.

Board certified hospitalists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Provides a full range of preoperative services which includes a state of the art same day surgery suite

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

In our new state of the art emergency department, our mission is to provide optimal emergency services in a safe environment. We will provide prompt, courteous and quality care to all patients arriving at our doors.

Twelve Emergency Bays for medical and psychiatric emergencies.

State of the art emergency equipment including the Broselow/Hinkle Pediatric Emergency Cart.

All nursing staff BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Certified Life Support) certified.

INTENSIVE CARE UNIT/ CORONARY CARE UNIT

Quality, multidisciplinary care is provided to an adult and geriatric population with complex critical illness requiring close personal care.

Professional registered nursing staff who have specialized training in Cardiac Arrhythmia, Hemodynamic Monitoring and Critical Care emergencies. All registered nurses are certified in Intravenous therapy, blood glucose monitoring and advanced cardiac life support.

Medical surgical interventions, cardiovascular evaluations and treatments provided

Board Certified Hospitalists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

How do I register for an OPD appointment?

Bring an appointment card to the Registration desk in the OPD lobby. Bring green plastic registration card. If you don have one, it will be issued when you register. You will receive a yellow registration slip if you are coming for a clinic visit
What do I need to bring to register for an appointment in the OPD for testing?

Identification - proof of residency (Drivers license or current bill showing address). Proof of Insurance - Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, etc. HMO's are not accepted unless Bergen Regional Medical Center is pre-approved as a provider by the HMO.

What if I don't have insurance?

You may be referred to the Credit and Collection Department to determine if you qualify for financial assistance.

Who will take care of me?

Registered Nurses are responsible for coordinating your care. Attending Physicians provide direct care and oversee your treatment plan in both Medical Clinics and in all specialty clinics. Outpatient support staff will schedule follow-up appointments.
